Here's how easy it is...
  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C, (180°c for fan ovens), gas mark 4.
  2. Sieve the flour into a large bowl and add the yeast and sugar. Use a spoon to mix together.
  3. Make a well in the centre of the flour and pour in the beaten egg and half the Carnation Evaporated Milk. Start to incorporate the mixture with your fingers a little at a time. Add the rest of the evaporated milk until all the flour is collected off the sides.
  4. Tip the floured dough onto a surface and knead until elastic and glossy. Place dough into a clean bowl. Cover with a damp towel and allow to prove for 1 hr in a warm place.
  5. After the dough has proved knock the air out of it by kneading gently and then shape and place in a greased loaf tin. Brush with egg wash and score the top. Then allow to prove for another hour.
  6. Place in the centre of the oven. Bake for 30 minutes until cooked.
