If you’re looking for a dazzling dinner-party dessert or even just an afternoon pick me up, you can’t really go wrong with an Affogato. Italian for ‘drowned’, submerge a scoop of our no-churn vanilla ice cream in shot of hot espresso and serve whilst the ice-cream starts to gently melt.

I made this in the summer months for a quick dessert and it was so refreshing and really creamy!! So easy to make will be making...

For the ice cream:

Whipping cream


Vanilla extract

1 tsp

For the affogato:

Vanilla ice-cream


1 Nespresso Altissio pod

You will also need:

Nespresso Vertuo machine

Step 1 of 3

For the ice-cream:  Beat the cream to soft peaks then add the condensed milk and vanilla and beat again to soft peaks. Pour the ice cream into a freezer safe container and pop in the freezer until solid (about 3-4 hours or overnight).

Step 2 of 3

Place one scoop of the ice-cream into a small glass or bowl. Use the Nespresso pod to prepare the espresso and pour straight over the ice-cream whilst it’s still hot.

Serve immediately!
