Bakewell Tarts
Treat yourself with this easy recipe for classic tarts.. You could sprinkle over a few flaked almonds on top for extra nuttiness! We also love these with raspberry jam.

Rolled light shortcrust pastry
Strawberry Jam
Ground Almonds
Almond Extract or Essence

Step 1 of 3
Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C for fan ovens). Gas mark 4. Use a large round cookie cutter to cut out 12 rounds from the rolled pastry. Lightly grease the cupcake tray and line each with a pastry round pressing it into the corners.
Step 2 of 3
Mix the condensed milk, ground almonds, almond extract and egg together in a mixing bowl until smooth. Place 1 tsp of strawberry jam in the bottom of each tart and then cover with the almond mix.
Step 3 of 3
Place in the middle of the oven and bake for 15 minutes until golden.
