Easy Salted Caramel and White Chocolate Fudge

White chocolate

450g

Dark chocolate

100g

Salt

½ tsp

You will also need…

20cm square tin lined with baking parchment

Step 1 of 3

Place the white chocolate into a bowl and microwave gently in short bursts until melted, stirring occasionally. When melted add the caramel and salt and stir thoroughly. As you stir, the mixture will thicken.

Step 2 of 3

Tip the warm mixture into a greased baking tray and spread evenly. Place in the fridge for 2 hours until set (or you can set it in the freezer for super speediness!).

Step 3 of 3

Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave and pour over the fudge (if its been in the freezer work quickly to smooth it over as it will set very quickly). Smooth over the top and leave to set then cut into squares.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My family loved it. Our variation was devoured! I changed recipe to use a mix of white (65%) and 45% 54dark for remaining mix. No salt added and no chocolate on top. I wish I could make it quick enough for them to eat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It Works!! Quick, easy & simple to make. I made carnation fudge years ago and decided to try again on a whim when shopping & picked up a can of caramel carnation... When I returned home I looked up the recipe and realised that I must have made it using regular carnation condensed milk last time. Fortunately I found this recipe. I couldn't find bars of white chocolate but I did find bags of white chocolate coins (was just after Christmas). So with instructions and ingredients ready: I followed the recipe - easy to understand and simple techniques. Anything to note: would be helpful if it stated how to melt chocolate in microwave for anyone who's not done that before as is easy to burn that way (personally I microwave for 20 seconds, stir & repeat until melted, reducing to 10 seconds if necessary). Result: very smooth and very soft fudge (perfect if this is your preferred fudge type, not so much if you prefer crumbly fudge). Chocolate topping broke a little when cutting, perhaps would benefit from being cut before it completely set. Would I make it again: yes - I would also be interested to make again and spend longer stirring the mixture to see if the fudge came out firmer and/or crumbly (although I'm happy with the result this time round) Would I make this for others / as a gift: yes Would I recommend this recipe to others: yes

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tasty and adaptable recipe I didn't have quite enough white chocolate so added milk to the white. Added chopped pecans and sprinkled flaked sea salt on top. Completely delicious, set well, silky and so moreish! Thank you. One for Christmas gifts to be sure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time I made this recipe yesterday and was quite excited for it Unfortunately it didn’t set at all so I couldn’t give it to my colleagues like I usually do it was sticky and had the consistency of cake batter just with chocolate stuck to the bottom A pity because what I tried of it was nice but completely unsuitable for fudge I’ll stick to the raspberry and white chocolate one that one was far nicer

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ingredients useless! Decided to make this as a Christmas gift but I would be too embarrassed to present it! Firstly the quantity for the dark chocolate topping is way out, I would personally double it. Secondly, there is absolutely no tang of the 'salted' caramel, need too up the salt. Makes me very wary of trying another one of your recopies!
