Besan Burfi
Besan burfi is among the most cherished Indian sweets, commonly found in various Indian sweet shops throughout the year. This delightful treat is traditionally prepared using ghee, besan (gram flour), and sugar. It is often served at celebrations and religious festivals such as Diwali and Holi.

Chickpea flour
Ghee
Cardamom powder
Almonds, chopped
Pistachios, chopped
You will also need:
20cm square tin lined with baking powder
Step 1 of 5
Add the ghee to a heavy bottomed pan and heat. Once the ghee is hot, turn the heat to low and add the chickpea flour.
Step 2 of 5
Toast for 10-12 minutes, stirring constantly to break up the lumps, until you get a nutty aroma and the flour has turned golden brown.
Step 3 of 5
Add the condensed milk and cardamom powder and mix until you get a smooth consistency. Remove from the heat.
Step 4 of 5
Decant the mix into your prepared tray and sprinkle over the chopped nuts.

Leave to cool completely then cut into squares and serve.
