Food Allergens

 


If you have a food allergy, please always check the ingredients lists of our Carnation® products before using. In line with EU Food Information for Consumers Regulation, if an allergen is present, the allergen will be in bold in the ingredients list.

 

There are 14 Major Food Allergens

Annex II of the EU Food Information for Consumers Regulation lists 14 major food allergens. By law, labels must declare these allergens if present in pre-packed foods.

  • Celery
  • Cereals containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats spelt)
  • Crustaceans (e.g. crab or prawns)
  • Eggs
  • Fish
  • Lupin
  • Milk
  • Molluscs (e.g. mussels or oysters)
  • Mustard
  • Nuts (e.g. almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios and macadamia nuts)
  • Peanuts
  • Sesame seeds
  • Soya
  • Sulphur dioxide or sulphites (preservatives used in some foods and drinks) at levels above 10mg per kg or per litre.

  • NUT ALLERGY? – The ingredients used in the manufacture of the products listed here do not contain nuts in any form.
  • EGG ALLERGY? – The ingredients used in the manufacture of the products listed here do not contain egg in any form.
  • GLUTEN ALLERGY? – The ingredients used in the manufacture of the products listed here do not contain gluten in any form.
  • MILK ALLERGY? – The ingredients used in the manufacture of the products listed here do not contain milk in any form.
  • SOYA ALLERGY? – The ingredients used in the manufacture of the products listed here do not contain soya in any form.
